”Grown-ish” season four ended with the core youngsters graduating from college. Now that the original Cal U crew is out in the real world, we’ll be following a mostly new group of young people through their formative years. Ahead of the season four finale, the show added Marcus Scribner, who plays Zoey’s little brother Junior on ”Black-ish,” as a series regular. In an interview with TVLine, showrunners Alexander and Lilly shared the plotline of the upcoming season, saying, ”For season five, we’re excited to dive deeper into the storylines of Zoey, Aaron, and Doug in their post-grad adventures and welcome a new dynamic class to Cal-U, including Junior.” –Popsugar.co.uk

The synopsis reads, “Tommy’s trial comes to a close; Callie needs to keep Kathleen from legal jeopardy; with the approval of the FCGs, Mariana meets with Evan; Alice is on the road, leaving Sumi as an acting manager; someone new joins the Coterie.”

  • ‘Kiss Me and Smile for Me‘ is the title of the second episode.

The synopsis reads, “Callie’s mom and Mariana’s mom arrive for a surprise dinner; Davia tells Gael about Matt and gets a call from work; Malika wonders about politics; Joaquin is interested in the timeline of the Coterie.”

As Callie, Mariana, and many other characters are all working to inspire change and lead movements in the world around them. For Callie herself, she looks to be serving as a voice for those who don’t have one. This trailer illuminates that, as you see her taking on more of a defender role. Her personal life is also changing — her relationship with Jamie seems to be over (code word there: seems), and it’s possible that something could be heating up again between her and Gael. Mariana has some decisions of her own to make when it comes to Evan or Raj; relationships will remain paramount to the series, but there are also issues in the immediate future that require everyone’s attention. Take, for example, some of what is going on with Malika with her trial coming right around the corner. –Cartermatt.com
